Frequently Asked Questions

Can my baby sleep on a nursing pillow?
No. The pillow is designed for feeding. If your little one drifts off mid-feed, gently move them onto their back on a firm, flat surface to sleep.

What is the Aariro nursing pillow made of?
The outer cover is 100% organic cotton, soft and breathable against your baby's delicate skin. Inside, the pillow is filled with polyfibre, chosen for firm, lasting support.

Will the feeding pillow lose its shape over time?
Our pillow is made to last. The dense filling holds its shape feed after feed, month after month, and many mothers have gone on to use the same pillow for their second baby as well.

How do I use a nursing pillow for breastfeeding and bottle feeding?
Sit comfortably with your back supported, slide the pillow around your waist, and rest your baby on top. It brings your baby to the right height for breastfeeding or bottle feeding, so you can relax your arms and shoulders and simply enjoy the moment together.

When can I start using a feeding pillow for my newborn, and for how long?
You can use it from day one for breastfeeding and bottle feeding, for as long as you're feeding your baby. From around three months, you can also use it for tummy time, and from around six months, as support while your baby learns to sit. Always stay with your baby when they're on the pillow.

Can I use a nursing pillow after a C-section?
The pillow lifts your baby to feeding height, so their weight rests on the pillow rather than on your tummy. Many mothers find this more comfortable while recovering.

What size is the nursing pillow, and will it fit me?
The pillow measures 22 x 22 x 5.5 inches, and its curved shape is designed to wrap snugly around most body types. It's comfortable when you're sitting upright, whether on your bed, sofa, or favourite chair.

Is the breastfeeding pillow firm or soft?
Firm where it matters, soft where it touches. The filling doesn't sink, so your baby stays at the same comfortable height from the start of a feed to the end, while the cotton cover keeps it gentle and cosy.

How do I wash the nursing pillow and cover?
Spills and little accidents are part of the journey, so we've made cleaning simple. Slip off the cover and machine wash it on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent, then dry in shade. The inner pillow can be hand washed with mild detergent. Press out the water gently without wringing, and let it dry completely in shade before slipping the cover back on. Please avoid bleach and tumble drying.

Can I buy extra nursing pillow covers?
Yes. Our covers come in a variety of prints, so you can always keep a fresh one ready, or simply switch things up.
