Breastfeeding journey of Aarabi Veeraraghavan
I am a big believer in breastfeeding but a bigger believer in formula or breast, fed is best! The mental and physical health of the mother and the health of the infant is all that matters. I nursed my older child till he was 23 months old and my younger one just finished 6 months of breastfeeding and we will continue for as long as we can.

How co-sleeping can help you and your baby ?
Promotes better sleep When you sleep by their side babies feel more secure and helps them sleep better. Your touch and your scent comforts them and they may not need to fully wake or cry before settling back to sleep by themselves. Hassle free breastfeeding Feeding on demand helps mamas maintain an adequate milk supply. Babies are designed to eat frequently at night and co-sleeping helps to make it easier for mama and baby to meet this need. Frequent nighttime feeds can also help mamas avoid painful engorgement from long stretches between nighttime feeds. Increases bonding Co-sleeping helps increase the bond between parent and baby. It also aids in responding quickly to your baby’s needs, which assures them you will always meet their needs. Babies who co-sleep develop stronger emotional relationships with their parents and with other people Lowers the risk of SIDS Babies who co sleep arouse frequently when they are close with their mamas. They are not fully awake, but are in a lighter sleep which is safer for newborns. This help babies learn to use their self-preservation instinct to rouse when there’s any danger such as being overheated, being too cold or something blocking their airway. Being able to easily rouse may reduce the risk of SIDS. Less night time crying Babies sleep well when they feel secure. Knowing mama is close will likely help baby sleep better and fuss less.Mamas that co sleep are able to notice earlier signs of hunger and needing to be changed. Often mama can wake during these early signs and meet baby’s needs before they begin to cry. Well rested Mama Mamas, not just babies, are wired for closeness.Co-sleeping mamas sleep better knowing the baby is safe and is close by. Mamas also release oxytocin when close to their babies. Oxytocin improves sleep quality and it’s also great for breastfeeding

The day I started my Pregnancy journey I was very sure I will not give a drop of Formula - This was my saying till the end and so happily my supply was good and I was very keen to have all the foods which increased my milk supply..Aditi was a Colic baby , so it was not at all easy for me till 6 months..Colic babies be very cranky and my only all time support was breast feeding ! I have had lots of cluster feedings but my energy was draining at the same time !! I use to have sleepless nights and next morning I will have a drink of Electrol for my instant energy. Everyone around me asked to stop BF but I was very desperate to give my baby full immunity with BM. I was thinking not everyone has sufficient Breastmilk and when I had enough why shud I stop..I successfully completed 26 months of Breastfeeding continuously ! And when Covid started and whole world was suffering and trying to increase their immune with various foods,I proudly raised my head to tell everyone I have given the best immunity booster..I have seen Aditi been better in many ways when it comes to health, brain development and many many more things. In this journey I would be confident but the struggles I faced is completely opposite - Being an entrepreneur it is not easy to get back to life - Work from home is easy but not - I had a pause with my work - My me time -Being myself doing my basic things itself was a big big thing for me - I was criticised but I was very firm in what I’m doing !! I advise every Mother to breastfeed ur child..that is THE BEST u can do, it’s not the time or money , Health is very important and dedicate urself into it - never hesitate to take help from your people around ! Don’t give up and keep trying ‘THE BIG LATCH ON’ ! Ur child will benefit more than anything in the world - TRUST ME Founder Tvameva

Breastfeeding was not a cake walk for me and my daughter when we begun. I still remember how I would dread every breastfeeding session in the first few weeks. From vaginal stitches to sore nipples, I never thought I would continue breastfeeding for even a month. But it got better as days passed, now it is been 2.8 years and still going. There are days where I'm exhausted and want to wean, also there are days where we cherish the cuddling moments after a long day. Founder Root & Soil
